Abstract

Introduction: Cclassroom based learning is being practiced from eras, but traditional classroom method of teaching was at downfall due to the rising pandemic situation. Online teaching was an alternative to taper this situation. online teaching done via internet and other electronic medium. Introducing online education to children for primary education was not less than a task. The students needed to be trained for the change, it had to be taken care that all the students had resources and internet availability, parents or elderly guidance became a necessary and lack of knowledge regarding utilization of technology. The teachers, students as well as the parents were not equipped for this instant and crucial change. Primary school children require more guidance as they will have less abilities and experiencing in utilizing technology. Hence it is vital to assess the challenges faced by the teachers so as to come up with solutions to improve the education. Methodology: Non-experimental Exploratory Research Method was adopted for the present study.  Data collection was done via Google forms among the primary school teachers. Non- probability Purposive sampling technique was used and the sample size was 20. Objective: 1. To assess the various challenges faced during online teaching activities among the primary school teachers in selected schools of Pune City.Conclusion: The current study portrays that teachers along with the students and their parents  had to face lots of difficulties while teaching via online mode  and it is hampering the efficiency of teaching to the students .It has become vital to initiate various programs to orient the teachers as well as the students to online teaching and other facilities available while online teaching as this can assist in bringing down number of challenges faced and get better results  without hindering the productivity of students .
