Abstract
This research paper explores the nuanced portrayal of Indian middle-class life in the literary works of Sudha Murthy. Through a detailed analysis of her short stories and novels, the study examines how Murthy encapsulates the values, struggles, and aspirations of India's middle class. The paper delves into key themes such as familial relationships, economic challenges, social mobility, and cultural traditions, which are recurrent in her narratives. By employing a cultural studies framework, the research aims to understand how Murthy's characters and plotlines reflect and critique the socio-economic realities faced by this demographic.
