A Review on Enzymes and Substrate Colonization by Microflora

Abstract
The analyses of plant litter revealed that generallycellulose, hemicellulose and lignin are the majorconstituents, being a part of structural framework. Therefore, carbohydrate biochemistry is likely to be thekey factor in ecology. The pectic substances thoughconstitute a little amount, are also important because theseact as cementing material. It can be expected that thedecomposition of a substrate by a fungus or a fungalcommunity depends upon their capacity to produceenzymes which can degrade cell wall constituents of thesubstrates. Good enzyme-producing equipment as one ofthe important characteristic contributing towardssuccessful colonization of a dead organic substrate by thefungi because of invasion of plant tissue by a fungus. Theimportant characteristic is the rate at which it canpenetrate successive cell walls in a cellular tissue
