Abstract

Thin layer chromatography which involves separation of differentcomponents, HPTLC is help in better resolution of compounds with lowerlimits of detection and quantifies separated components with the use of anintegrated software platform .Pongamia pinnata (L.) Pierre is a Fabaceae treefrom family Papilionaceae found in this region, all plant parts such as rootleaves and stem flower and seeds used in traditional medicine. Leaves arealso having medicinal properties. Attempts have been made to studycomplete profile of leaf extract by using High performance thin layerchromatography. The densitometric analysis shows fingerprinting, RFvalue, peaks of densitogram and chemical variation, this technique is usefulfor drug identification, adulteration, and also acts as biomarker in plantindustry
